[Well it's too late to be secretive now so Susan will just sigh and sit in front of the door with them. ...As an afterthought, walking to the mantle and snatching Gundam's gun.]
Somebody who knows what to do with this please make this entirely ineffective, if you could!
And the keys are what the key you and Stiles received for being popular unlocked. We think one of them should open one of the doors to the smoking room.
The hamsters will have to fend for themselves for the moment, then, although it would be quite nice if someone could find it in themselves to look for them in memory of Gundam and all of that kind of thing.
Not that I don't trust you, but do you mind terribly removing the bullets here in front of the rest of us? I'll take the actual weapon and someone can keep the ammunition so we know for sure it won't be used again.
[Susan will begin to try the keys to the smoking room door.]
What? Really? I just tried one or two doors with that thing. [ She reminds herself to ask Stiles about that later considering now doesn't seem to be a good time. She just shakes her head. ] What's the point of using a key to find a million keys that you don't even know where they lead?
I don't know the first thing about hamsters, let alone how to catch them. I have to go see Lithium anyway, so if someone else wants to volunteer to chase after them, I'm not going to complain.
Whoever thought bringing animals here was a good idea didn't think that whole situation through. We have almost as many animals as contestants now.
But it would take days to figure out where they all go! Even if Gundam is saved, then how will we know what goes where and which ones have any sort of relevance to beating this game? [ Then, she pauses, remembering something that happened quite recently... ] Do you think one goes to the servants quarters?
There's the servant's quarters, the western stairs outside of Ruby Wing, this door, the door in the billiards room, and the trapdoor leading into the smoking room that still need unlocking. Any of them might be able to be unlocked with these keys - or perhaps only one.
And catch the Mastermind while trying to prevent more murders from happening...? I guess we really are reaching the end of the game.
I tried the billiards room door and the door by the Ruby Wing with my key, but neither of them opened. So the key is probably in all that. [ She motions to the bowl of keys. ] Good luck with that, you'll definitely need all you can get.
If we can't save Gundam, there's only seven of us left. We're near the end of the game because we're nearing the end of the list of people. Either we all die or we succeed.
We must succeed. ...All the more so for Poland and Sonia's sakes.
[Susan gets up briefly, frowns, and then grabs some wine to dip the ends of the keys in when she's finished checking them. A bit sticky, but wine stains were hard to get out which was more or less what she was going for.]
It's just... a lot. Wether Gundam is saved or not, you'll still have to go through all those keys to figure out where they go and we'll still have to catch the Mastermind. If there's eight or seven of us left, how do we manage doing all of that with so few people? Especially when more murders can happen.
[ For once, it sounds like she's actually asking for an assurance of some kind. ]
We will do it precisely because there's only seven or eight of us left. ...Well, eight or nine, since I assume May and Annie are both willing to assist. The list becomes narrower and narrower - our chances are as high as they ever can be.
We have two days yet before the incentives are announced and the next week begins in earnest. That's enough time to try every key on every door if we cooperate.

...Where are the hamsters?!
no subject
[ She says it so calmly. Rapture should never be trusted with animals. ]
What are all those keys?

I can take care of the gun, Miss Susan.

I should be able to take the gun itself apart as well, actually.

...So we have four hamsters, a dove, a horse, and a puppy now that all need looking after. Wonderful.
The million keys could be a clue to figuring out the true mystery. It's all we have to go on right now.

We'll simply have to try them all.
