[tsarcasm]

[ Time for Anastasia to join the search party as well. She'll check the elevator shaft, since it stands out in her memory of last week's search as being kind of a sketchy place, and then go downstairs to check the actual elevator. ]

[productions]

[She won't need to go check the actual elevator.

When she opens the door to the elevator shaft and looks down, she'll see Dave Strider's body sprawled facedown on top of the elevator down below.]

[tsarcasm]

[ ...Uh oh. For a moment she stands there frozen. The next thing that sets is a an almost detached panic. ] Right, uh, so. That is a dead body. [ Taking a few steps back from the doors. ] Okay, Anya, calm down, you can do this —

[ Deep breath. And then she'll yell, albeit a little shakily. ]

H-Hey! Come here, quickly! To the elevator!

[ Pooka sets off at a run, barking loudly, to see if he can go find anyone in the area to come help. ]

[godwhisperer]

[There's a small little hamster skittering around the kitchen, who scampers across the floor to the edge of the elevator. She sits and twitches her nose and looks up at Anya, before turning and running away.]

[godwhisperer]

[And, in a minute or so, Gundam is there, with the hamster sitting on his shoulder. Despite the situation, he's beaming and looks incredibly happy.]

So my magnificent ones succeed yet again. Yes, their powers are surely unmatched in this plane.

[tsarcasm]

[ .................IS IT SO MUCH TO ASK FOR A NORMAL PERSON TO HELP ]






Out of everyone, it really had to be you, didn't it.

[godwhisperer]

[Wow, rude. He strokes his hamster with one finger while he regards her smugly.]

Surely there was no other option. No other being possesses the power of my eyes and ears to aid them.

Is he dead?

[tsarcasm]

...I don't know, I haven't exactly checked. But he definitely isn't moving.

[teenspirit]

[ Showing up out of nowhere, attracted by the yelling. This is now a goth-boy-and-princesses sandwich. ]

What is going on!

[godwhisperer]

The body of the lesser David lies in the cavern below. My Dark Gods keenly divined the location of his tomb.

[He doesn't really seem upset and is basically just bragging about the hamsters.]

[teenspirit]

[ She never talked to the guy, but... ugh. For a third time they'd have to endure a nightmare trial. ]

I am sure the hammies were quite impressive, but we need to get him out of there immediately!

[respecting]

[so he was running around when this little dog showed up and tried to lead him somewhere.]

What's up, dog?! You found Dave? He in trouble? [this is totally lassie. He comes down the stairs and sees the two of them standing in front of the elevator.]

Yo! Is that...

[tsarcasm]

Sonia! [ She sounds audibly relieved, saved from having to investigate with only Gundam as company. And then Pooka comes bounding back, bringing Beat with him — even more help. She sobers quickly, though, to deliver the news. ]

Yeah. I... I found Dave. He's there in the bottom of the elevator.

[teenspirit]

We... we must get him out somehow!

[godwhisperer]

Hm.

[With his hamsters sufficiently praised by Sonia's lukewarm efforts, Gundam takes Sun-D off his shoulder and sets her down. He walks to the elevator shaft and leaps down from the edge.

Fortunately, while it's a bit of a drop, it's no jump from Oval bathroom. He lands on his feet on top of the elevator shaft and catches his balance.]

[respecting]

[Beat joins the others by the door and... winces at the broken body first, then blinks at Gundam second. That was a pretty good jump, but it looks awkward to lift the body that high so he'll hop off the ledge and kind of hover a bit.]

Yo, lemme help with that!

[he figures he can either help lift the body up or Gundam can pass it.]

[tsarcasm]

[ Well, dudes are good for something, at least, even if that something is lifting bodies out of elevator shafts. She's trying to keep the unnecessary comments to a minimum, but can't help gape a little at Beat's sudden hovering. ]

I have to say I wasn't expecting flying.

[teenspirit]

[ Watching them both with great worry. ]

C...can you double check to be sure that he's really dead?

[godwhisperer]

[He kneels next to the body, and, careful not to disturb it too much, places his fingers to check for a pulse.]

Perhaps it would not be wise to lift him out yet. The body should be examined as it was upon his death, should it not be?

[respecting]

Oh... right. [he'll drop down on the other side then. While Gundam's checking the pulse, he just kind of gives the body and the area around it a look-over, muttering ideas to himself such as,] Uhh, is he bleeding? [he's not even sure what to look for. Lifting things is more what he's good at. But he'll try to get a good picture.]

[productions]

[There's no pulse and the body is cold. It's difficult to tell the exact state the body is in from the dim lighting in the shaft, but judging by the awkward angle they're splayed in, both of Dave's arms and one of his legs may be broken. Additionally, once Gundam kneels next to him, he may notice that a good portion of the surface of the elevator is covered in blood that's still slightly sticky to the touch. A katana lies besides the corpse.]

[tsarcasm]

[ Anastasia leans in to peer down into the shaft, squinting. ]

It's kind of dark, isn't it? Or at least, I can't see too well, we don't all have magic hamster eyes or whatever. It might be a good idea to move him somewhere where the light is better.

[respecting]

He looks like he was dropped down here. What's wit the katana? We oughta flip him to see if he got stabbed...

[He squints in the dark to see if he can tell if there's a stab wound on the body, or blood on the weapon. There's certainly enough on the ground.]

[productions]

[On his front and in the dim lighting, it's hard to tell whether Dave's been stabbed, although the blood pooled around his body certainly seems to indicate so. If Beat brings the katana up closer to his face, he'll notice that there does seem to be a dark stain on it that could be blood as well.]

[respecting]

[Beat eventually picks it up, since he can see it a bit better this way - he'll even try to get it in what little light they have. He feels a little frustrated, remarking,]

Man, where'd they even get a katana?

[And after he'd done his best to get rid of that poison and such too... preventing murders is really hard]
